Housing Leaders to Gather for 2026 Kentucky Affordable Housing Conference
FRANKFORT, Kentucky — Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) will host the 2026 Kentucky Affordable Housing Conference (KAHC26) on Wednesday and Thursday, August 5-6, 2026, at the Central Bank Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Centered on this year's theme, Framing Kentucky's Future, the conference will draw hundreds of housing professionals from across the Commonwealth and neighboring states to discuss solutions to Kentucky's housing challenges.
As Kentucky confronts an ongoing housing shortage, the conference serves as a vital collaborative space for partners across single-family and multifamily development, lending, housing counseling, and homeless services. Attendees will explore actionable ways the state can accelerate housing production, foster innovative partnerships, and navigate an evolving industry landscape.

A cornerstone of this year’s event is the participation of Charles "Chuck" Marohn, founder and president of Strong Towns and bestselling author of Escaping the Housing Trap: The Strong Towns Response to the Housing Crisis.
In 2023, Planetizen named Marohn one of the 100 Most Influential Urbanists of all time in recognition of his contributions to community development.
At KAHC26, he will lead sessions diving deep into the Strong Towns approach and share strategies local leaders, planners, and developers can use to build resilient, financially stable communities.
The conference will feature more than 30 breakout sessions covering a range of housing and community development topics, along with opportunities for attendees to connect with colleagues and industry partners.
KHC shares that participants will leave equipped with the strategies and relationships needed to make a tangible impact on affordable housing across the region.
