Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) awards funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to nonprofits that certify as Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs) for the development of single-family housing. CHDOs may use t​he funds for the new construction or rehabilitation of affordable single-family homes. Single-family homes built or rehabilitated with the assistance of HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME)​ funds must comply with required income restrictions and follow certain design requirements. Homes must be sold to lower income homebuyers after completion of construction.​
