Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8 Rental Assistance)
Housing Choice Vouchers provide rental assistance and allow recipients to locate and rent a house, duplex, apartment or mobile home on their own, as long as the dwelling meets the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's housing guidelines. Vouchers are available throughout Kentucky. Local housing authorities administer the Section 8 program in some areas and you must apply to them. For counties administered by Kentucky Housing Corporation, you can apply for assistance when the program accepts applications.
Due to overwhelming demand, the waiting list for Section 8 in the 87 counties in which KHC administers the program will not be accepting applications until further notice.
