The Simply Home exhibits was created as part of an overarching strategy to respond to a need to build awareness about affordable housing, why affordable housing matters, and showcase real faces of affordable housing to help transform attitudes about affordable housing.
In order to increase first mortgage financing to minority and immigrant populations, KHC sought to identify potential partners in the state in order to form a collaborative partnership that connects referral agencies working directly with the target minority and immigrant populations in Kentucky.
KHC developed a Business Planning Scorecard transformed this qualitative reporting to a more quantitative report on defined metrics tied to the KHC’s corporate strategies.
KHC's key activities were strategized with purpose—to approach housing, coupled with support services in new ways, to increase affordable, replicable housing solutions for underserved and growing populations.
By utilizing communication, compliance scoring, and impact reviews, the Corporation’s ability to monitor the health of each of our properties has been enhanced, allowing the Corporation to make well informed decisions on better funding projects and averting issues before they happen.
There are creative opportunities across the United States to revitalize abandoned school structures and create affordable, low- and mixed-income homes that residents can be proud to live in. Having a safe place to call home can be transformative to both families living successfully in these units and to communities by making old, forgotten, and abandoned structures revitalized with new purpose and breathing new life into blighted areas.
Riverport Landings integrates a broad spectrum of residents with community services, neighborhood retail, and recreation - providing stable housing to seniors, families and youth, helps spur commercial development in the neighborhood, and its community centers and park are an excellent resource for those living in the community and surrounding areas.
Riverport Scholar House campus will include a Family Scholar House educational services center that will serve not only residential families, but also neighbors and residents from the other components of the development. Other state housing agencies can replicate this model and help a large, underserved population of youth exit foster care and work toward self-sufficiency..
