2008 Housing Credit and Rental Production Funding Awards (March 31, 2008)

Kentucky Housing Corporation has announced the latest round of funding from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program, Small Multifamily Affordable Loan (SMAL) Program and Low Income Housing Tax Credits (Housing Credit).  Twenty-nine recipient projects around the state will create 1,043 total units of affordable housing in Kentucky communities.  Total program funding amounts are $3,993,856 AHTF; $3,951,915 HOME; $500,000 SMAL; and $7,284,306 Housing Credit.

Kentucky Housing Corporation Under New Leadership (January 23, 2008)

Kentucky Housing Corporation, the state housing finance agency, announced today that Ben A. Cook, chief executive officer, has resigned. Cook had served in this post since 2004 following his retirement from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Louisville. Under his leadership, Kentucky Housing continued the advancement of affordable housing and developed additional initiatives to serve Kentucky’s most vulnerable residents.

Bell-Whitley Community Action Agency was awarded funding today from Kentucky Housing Corporation to produce affordable housing for very low-income persons in eastern Kentucky.  Bell-Whitley Community Action Agency received $180,000 from the state Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF).

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Takes Place at Women’s Addiction Recovery Manor (August 27, 2007)

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held in Henderson on Monday, August 27, 2007, for the first of many recovery centers that will simultaneously reduce the state’s drug and homeless problems.  The Women’s Addiction Recovery Manor (WARM), on McKinley Street, will provide counseling, support and hope for women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction.

Governor Fletcher, Kentucky Housing Corporation Announce Louisville Scholar House Funding (June 28, 2007)

Governor Ernie Fletcher joined representatives of Kentucky Housing Corporation, Project Women, University of Louisville and state and local officials today to announce the funding of Louisville’s Scholar House.  This new initiative will provide affordable housing, counseling and on-site childcare for single parents who are pursuing post-secondary education.  The Louisville Scholar House is the second of five such developments planned around the state.

The Kentucky League of Cities and Kentucky Housing Corporation have formed a contractual partnership to work with local leaders on key housing issues.   The arrangement creates a KLC liaison to work with mayors and local leaders. 

 
Kentucky Housing Corporation Announces Latest Project Funding (June 07, 2007)

Kentucky Housing Corporation has announced the latest round of funding from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program, Small Multifamily Affordable Loan (SMAL) Program and Low Income Housing Tax Credits (Housing Credits).  Sixteen recipients around the state will receive nearly $9 million to fund housing developments in their communities and produce approximately 631 units of affordable housing.

 
Kentucky Housing Corporation Announces Emergency Shelter Grant Funding (June 06, 2007)

Kentucky Housing Corporation has announced the latest recipients, outside of Fayette and Jefferson Counties, of Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) funds.  Forty-four projects proposed by nonprofit agencies and local governments will receive a total of $1,358,739 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist the homeless in Kentucky.  In addition, Jefferson and Fayette Counties, which administer their own ESG programs, will receive $616,607 from HUD to fund 38 projects.

 
Partnership Helps Record Breaking Number of Kentuckians Become Homeowners (February 13, 2007)

While the housing market began to slow across the country in 2006, Kentucky Housing’s network of 850 lenders helped provide over $500 million in affordable mortgage loans to more than 5,000 Kentucky households, a new record for the 35-year-old state housing finance agency.  Kentucky Housing recognized the top lending partners at the Second Annual Lender Recognition Luncheon today.

 
Kentucky Housing Corporation Announces Emergency Shelter Grant and EmergencyShelter Grant Match Funding Availability (January 24, 2007)

Kentucky Housing Corporation has announced the availability of Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) funding along with the first round of Emergency Shelter Grant Match (ESGM) funds.  ESG is a federal program administered by Kentucky Housing that was established in 1989 to aid America’s homeless.
