Kentucky Housing Corporation Honors Top Lenders

Lending Partners Ensure Safe Home Loans for Kentuckians
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), the state housing finance agency, recognized its 2016 top lending partners at the 12th Annual Lender Luncheon in Lexington on March 7, 2017.
Kentuckians who received a KHC home loan in 2016 worked with one of 98 partnering lender banks and mortgage companies in communities across the state. KHC offers loans for first-time and repeat home buyers, and refinancing options for current homeowners. Since 1972, more than 93,900 Kentuckians have become homeowners by obtaining a KHC loan.
At the luncheon, KHC announced $5 million in funding for the Mortgage Revenue Bond (MRB) Special Funding Program with a 2.00 percent fixed interest rate for 30 years. The MRB Special Funding Program aids households whose gross annual income does not exceed $40,000, and who meet one of the following criteria: at least one of the home buyers is age 62 or older; at least one household member is disabled and receives disability income; or is a single- or two-parent household with at least one dependent child under the age of 18 living in the home. Maximum sales price is $130,000. The MRB Special Funding Program is limited to specific counties and reservations for funding will begin Wednesday, March 8, 2017.
“KHC would not reach our goals of providing access to affordable homeownership if it wasn’t for the continued support of our mortgage partners; we are grateful for all they do to help home buyers with loans, down payment assistance, and fixed rates for the life of the loan,” said Brenda Walker, managing director of Single-Family Programs at KHC.
“The foundation for strong communities begins with home,” said Kathryn Peters, executive director of KHC. “We are grateful to our partners for helping us do what we do best: provide low- and moderate-income families with safe, quality, affordable housing. By working together, we create a stronger Kentucky.”
