Kentucky Housing Corporation Honors Top Lenders

Lending Partners Ensure Safe Home Loans for Kentuckians
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), the state housing finance agency, recognized its 2015 top lending partners of affordable mortgage loans at the 11th Annual Lender Luncheon today in Shelbyville.
Kentuckians who received a KHC home loan in 2015 worked with one of 87 partnering lender banks and mortgage companies in communities across the state. KHC offers loans for first-time and repeat home buyers, and refinancing options for current homeowners. Since 1972, more than 90,400 Kentuckians have become homeowners by obtaining a KHC loan.
At the luncheon, KHC introduced the Mortgage Revenue Bond (MRB) Special Funding Program with a 2.00 percent fixed interest rate for 30 years. The MRB Special Funding Program aids households whose gross annual income does not exceed $35,000 and who meet one of the following criteria:  at least one of the home buyers is age 62 or older; at least one household member is disabled and receives disability income; or is a single- or two-parent household with at least one dependent child under the age of 18 living in the home. Reservations begin on Monday, March 7, 2016.
“Our purpose is to create sustainable homeownership solutions for Kentuckians,” said Brenda Walker, managing director of Single-Family Programs at KHC. “It would not be possible to assist so many families without the continued support of our mortgage partners; we are grateful for all they do to help home buyers access loan products with down payment assistance and fixed rates for the life of the loan.”
“The foundation of a healthy partnership is one of mutual goals, respect, and ethics. Without our partners, we at KHC could not provide homeownership opportunities for as many Kentucky families,” said Kathryn Peters, executive director of KHC. “We are grateful to our partners for helping us do what we do best:  provide low- and moderate-income families with safe, quality, affordable housing.”
